VISUAL ARTS PEDAGOGY: Connecting with self, place, culture and community
10th International Art in Early Childhood Conference
10 – 12 July 2025
We are pleased to invite you to the 10th International Art in Early Childhood Conference which will take place at the University of Wollongong, Australia, from July 10-12, 2025.
This conference will bring together global leaders in early childhood education and the arts, artists and early education practitioners to explore approaches to visual arts-based learning, teaching and practice.
The theme for the Conference is Visual Arts Pedagogy: Connecting with self, place, culture and community. Presentations can combine or focus on one of three sub-themes:
• Visual arts connections – pedagogy and education
• Visual arts connections – culture, community and place
• Visual arts connections – nurturing self, wellbeing and identit
Ticket Information & Registration:
- Early Bird Conference Registration: $380 AUD (expires 17 th March 2025)
- Conference Registration: $420 AUD
- Conference Dinner: $100 AUD (optional)
To register, first you will need to register with Oxford Abstracts (the conference booking platform) to be able to register to attend the conference and dinner.
Please also note there will be a small surcharge added to the ticket price to cover the admin fees charged by Oxford Abstracts. If you need an alternative method of payment, please email eleimbach@uow.edu.au
The Conference Dinner: The Conference Dinner will be held on Friday 11th July 2025 from 6:30pm at The UOW INNOVATION CAMPUS EVENTS CENTRE. Please note this venue is located at a different campus located HERE

The full program will be posted soon but the following dates and times may help with planning.
- Wednesday July 9th: Registration desk will open from 3-6pm.
- Thursday July 10th: Registration desk will open at 8:00am for a 9:00am opening ceremony.
- Friday July 11th: 8:30 welcome for 9:00am start
- Friday July 11th: Conference Dinner 6:30pm start
- Saturday July 12th: 8:30 welcome for 9:00am start and anticipated conference conclusion by around 1pm to allow delegates to travel to their next destination or home. (Note: Only morning tea will be served on the final day of the conference)
